BDSM, Fetish and kink objects and Terms

The BDSM, Fetish and Kink objects on display at LAM and those frequently used by buyers, were a vital aspect of how kinky identity was constituted within London Alternative Market. Many buyers could be seen trying and feeling the various items of display. They described how the objects they bought were customised to their specific desires and socially appropriated according to the BDSM, Kink and Fetish community in particular contexts.

The Look of the object is important during stage performances. If it’s big, bright and colourful it will grab people’s attention. If it’s just another generic brand, people are just going to say Oh it’s a flogger. In London, any Dom that wants the attention of other people needs to do it through weird wacky and wonderful things.
